KMMS Primary Care Education Team

Welcome to KMMS’s Primary Care Department.  We are all passionate about creating medical graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills and attributes to be excellent doctors.

We want students to have early exposure to primary care with patient contact and therefore community placements will start from the second month.  Students will be allocated into Primary Care Networks and be exposed to a range of medical conditions, specialised clinics and multidisciplinary primary care colleagues.  Placements will be arranged into separate immersion weeks throughout and will supported throughout by our highly capable educational supervisors within the PCN.  There will be 6 immersion weeks within the first year and 7 within the second year.   During these immersion weeks, students will also have tutorial style teaching of clinical cases and be expected to develop quality improvement activities and present clinical cases to their PCN.

The KMMS Primary Care Education team, led by Dr Catherine Neden, works in collaboration with the Practice Learning Unit at Canterbury Christ Church University and with colleagues in the Kent and Medway training hubs.
